A 1830s country house in the Delphi valley, surrounded by the tallest mountains in Connemara. Thirteen bedrooms, a long communal table, and three fisheries, the Bundorragha, Finlough, and Doolough. The house-party atmosphere is the point.

A four-star castle hotel on a 700-acre estate of woodland and river. The Ballynahinch and Owenmore rivers run through the grounds. Forty-eight rooms ranging from the manor house to riverside lodges. The fishing is serious, and so is the setting.

Ashford Castle
A thirteenth-century castle on 350 acres on the shores of Lough Corrib, dating to 1228. Eighty-three rooms and suites, and some of the finest brown trout dapping in Ireland when the mayfly is up in May. The Cong River holds one of the country's best runs of Atlantic salmon.

An Italianate country house with its own Blackwater Salmon Fishery, over ten miles of salmon and trout fishing on some of the best-known beats of the Munster Blackwater, plus three stocked trout lakes and wild brown trout on the River Bride.
